FAQ

  • Understanding insurance can be confusing. We are happy to assist you by answering any billing questions.

Depending on your current health insurance provider, it is possible for services to be covered in full or in part. Anchor Christian Counseling is currently receiving Blue Cross Blue Shield and Sanford insurance.

If your insurance provider is not listed, please call Anchor Counseling during office hours to confirm whether or not your care could be covered.

  • To determine your insurance benefits, consider asking your provider the following questions:

    • Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?

    • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?

    • Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have?

    • What is my deductible, and has it been met?

    • Do I need written approval from my primary care physician for services to be covered?

  • To avoid charges, there is a 24-hour notice required for cancellations. Call (701) 255-3325 to cancel and reschedule.

  • No two therapists are the same. Alongside of this, you will find you “click” with some therapists’ styles and personalities more than others. That’s normal, and we want to help you find the right match.

  • You may pay with Cash, Check, MasterCard, Visa, Health Savings Account (HSA)

  • At your first appointment, you will be asked to complete paperwork before starting your session. These forms include:

    • HIPPA forms

    • Insurance information

    • Medical history, including your current medications

    • A questionnaire about your symptoms

    • Record release form

    • Therapist-patient services agreement

The first session is typically 60 minutes long.

The initial visit allows you and your therapist to get to know each other and determine how to proceed. Future visits will be more therapeutic. Typically, therapists and their clients prefer to meet weekly or biweekly.

  • Depending on your issue and therapy goals, therapy can last a few sessions or several weeks or years. While you likely want to know how long it will take to "feel better," there's no simple answer. A counseling journey is very individualized, and therapy is not a quick fix but a holistic solution.
